Are you thinking about improving your curb appeal? Whether you want to pull up to a more appealing house everyday, or you are getting ready to sell your home and want to entice buyers, here are five ways to improve your home’s curb appeal.
.) Paint or Replace the Front Door: Let’s start with the front door! Giving it a coat of fresh paint may be enough to spring your door back to life. In some cases, a new door handle would also be a good idea. If your front door is in bad shape, you may need to replace the whole thing. Places like Lowe’s sell a variety of front doors.
.) Plant Flowers: Colorful flowers brighten up the front of your house. Add color to your gardens, window boxes and flower pots. This is a fairly easy and inexpensive way to improve curb appeal.
.) Replace Address Numbers: Replace your old worn out numbers with new ones. This will make them easier to see. It is a good idea to replace them with numbers that match the style of your house. If you are the crafty type, painting your old address numbers could also be an option if they are still in good shape.
.) Pressure Wash: If you own a pressure washer, it will really come in handy when improving your curb appeal. Pressure wash the driveway, porch, and siding if they need it. Your deck may also need a power wash. If you don’t own a pressure washer, some places offer them for rent or you could hire someone to do it for you.
.) Get a New Doormat: This is an easy way to add a new fresh look to your outdoor entry area. You could also set a potted plant to the side of your door, or a welcome sign. If you have enough room, a chair or bench is also a great idea.
